Healthy Kottu Festival @ MLH

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Kottu Roti is a Sri Lankan dish, made from a Sri Lankan type of bread called Godamba Roti, vegetables, egg, or meat, and various spices. A hot kottu is generally eaten as a dinner meal. The common varieties include beef, chicken, lamb as well as egg. At the Healthy Kottu Festival which will be held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel from 15th to 20th August, there will be a whole new definition to your usual “Kottu meal” It will be a fusion of innovativeness and multi- ethnic cuisine.
“I want to add a difference to our everyday Sri Lankan meal which is rice and curry. Because there is no variety, many think that our cuisine is not that interesting. But even foreigners will be intrigued by this, as this is unique and healthy” States Chef Publis.
He has blended the traditional and authentic ingredients to Sri Lanka and fused it with multi ethnicity tastes from all communities and created a Healthy Kottu Festival. The menu will consist of: Kos Kotthu, Kohila Kotthu, Nethrapalam (Banana) Kotthu, Bread Fruit Kotthu, LotusYam Kotthu, Corn on the Cob Kotthu, Polos Kotthu, Karankoku Kotthu, Pala Kotthu and much more…. Using all local ingredients, Chef Publis will give a different meaning to Kottu.
“Allow Chef Pubilis to take you on a culinary journey and the medicinal and indeed ayurvedic value of the meal you are about to consume and he will make an authentic Kottu without the Gothamba Roti that everyone uses,“ states Mr Anura Dewapura. It will be a unique dining experience for all the guests who are always looking forward for healthy and innovative dishes. This healthy meal will no doubt be enjoyed by all.
